Charlotte GAA
In support of, and through a strong sense of community, Charlotte GAA raises awareness and promotes Irish sports, culture, and activities throughout North America and the Southeast.
Our goal has been to create a unified club that accepts the strengths and uniqueness of each individual member. Through the teachings and demonstrations of traditional Irish sports, Charlotte GAA has successfully recruited and retained a diverse membership base forming unbreakable bonds while also bringing a little piece of home to Irish abroad. As we grow stronger, we strengthen our community through youth, adult, community outreach, and scholarship programs.
Charlotte GAA, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, began in 2000 with only a Men’s Football Program. Since inception, the club has continued to grow and successfully added a Ladies Senior Football Team (2007), a Ladies Junior Football Team (2017), a second Men’s Football Team, a robust Youth Program (2018), Hurling (2020), and Camogie (2022). We take immense pride in our GAA community in Charlotte which has brought about the continued growth and success of our club. With 11 North American Championships amongst our programs, we attribute our success to the ongoing support of our primary sponsor, Best Bars Charlotte, along with the continued support of our club members and surrounding Charlotte community.
